Organic Gardening, Unadulterated Foods, Politicians, and Upcoming Elections
There is a very simple Litmus Test for politicians, and it has something to do with foods and gardens.
That test will unfailingly allow you to sort out the basically honest person who somehow ended practicing the world's second oldest profession (and we all know what the first one is. Actually, some have argued that the first and second one are in truth not that different, and to the very least, quite closely related... but that's another issue) from the corrupt one who has sold his or her soul to the powers-that-be, and to the fast-food aqnd "diet"-soda crap makers of the world.
Just ask any candidate or office holder what their position is about the right of people to have access to unadulterated foods, and of people growing their own foods in their own gardens, in Community Gardens if they don't have access to land otherwise, and about the use of public land or empty lots for Community Gardening. And what sort of public support they think such activities should receive. And listen.
Sure, they will all tell you that of course they are all for it. Which, of course, usually means ... absolutely nothing.
But see what they *trully* say, when put to the question a bit more seriously. If they don't support your rights to unadulterated foods clearly, you know who ought to be voted out of office at the first possible occasion. Don't let party affiliations blind you. It matters not to which party a corrupt politician belongs to, even if it happens to be your own. They all nonetheless just need to get ousted as soon as can be managed.
Now, if they seem to support your rights, analyze how far that purported "support" ACTUALLY goes. If it is lukewarm lip service, with zero action to back it, you again know what needs to be done...
And be sure to complement your questions with complementary ones... For example:
- What is that persons position regarding water fluoridation, which has been defined by a leading EPA scientist as "one of the biggest scientific fraud of all times"?
- What is THEIR POSITION about the right people have to get truthful labelling on the food they buy, such as for example if it contains GMO or genetically-modified material, more popularly known as "frankenfoods", or artificial hormones?
- What do they think about the proposal to heavily tax aspartame and sucralose-containing "foods" at the local, county and state level, and use the money for public education about the real elements of optimal nutrition?
- Do they support prorated Agricultural Water rates for Water and Power customers who desire to maintain their own food-producing *organic* gardens? (If people want to eat pesticides, herbicides, etc, etc, they can get them at the local supermarket without polluting their neighbors and themselves. There is clearly no need to support that...)
- Etc, etc. Make your own questions, adapted from that person's public record, if it is an incumbent. Put real democracy in action!
Just remember that support about people's inalienable right to have access to unadulterated and pure foods, and foremost, to grow their own, is truly the absolute Litmus Test about a politician's degree of actual corruption.
So ask what they think about it, and see what they say, and how they say it. Analyze it
carefully, and ask for clarifications and commitments. Remember, elections have often be defined as "a contest for the best liar". Don't let them do a Richard Nixon or Bill Clinton number on you (not to name more recent examples anyone can easily think of on their own).
Remember, these are REAL questions, and quite FUNDAMENTAL ONES too. You have a RIGHT to know what they truly think, and what they intend to do!
And if what you find appears to be honest support, but in an uninformed or badly-informed way, or if you see someone who appears to have good intentions, but does not really know what to do, it is YOUR job to turn limited support into fully-informed and enthousiastic support.
Finally, if you find what appears to be real and genuine support, then make sure that these specific individuals stays in office as long as possible, as long as they truly ACT upon what they say their convictions are. And, again, support them fully regardless of party issues.
Party issues are just artificial dividers, created to control the masses. They are of no importance whatsoever. The only thing that is important is what people DO regarding REAL ISSUES, when they are in a position of actually doing something!
And always MAKE SURE THAT THEY DO THE RIGHT THING when it comes to support what is perhaps the most important issue relating to our health: Our right to access unadulterated foods, and to grow them!
