Organic Gardening, Unadulterated Foods, Politicians, and Upcoming Elections

Organic Gardening, Unadulterated Foods, Politicians, and Upcoming Elections

There is a very simple Litmus Test for politicians, and it has something to do with foods and gardens.
That test will unfailingly allow you to sort out the basically honest person who somehow ended practicing the world's second oldest profession (and we all know what the first one is. Actually, some have argued that the first and second one are in truth not that different, and to the very least, quite closely related... but that's another issue) from the corrupt one who has sold his or her soul to the powers-that-be, and to the fast-food aqnd "diet"-soda crap makers of the world.

Just ask any candidate or office holder what their position is about the right of people to have access to unadulterated foods, and of people growing their own foods in their own gardens, in Community Gardens if they don't have access to land otherwise, and about the use of public land or empty lots for Community Gardening. And what sort of public support they think such activities should receive. And listen.

Sure, they will all tell you that of course they are all for it. Which, of course, usually means ... absolutely nothing.

But see what they *trully* say, when put to the question a bit more seriously. If they don't support your rights to unadulterated foods clearly, you know who ought to be voted out of office at the first possible occasion. Don't let party affiliations blind you. It matters not to which party a corrupt politician belongs to, even if it happens to be your own. They all nonetheless just need to get ousted as soon as can be managed.

Now, if they seem to support your rights, analyze how far that purported "support" ACTUALLY goes. If it is lukewarm lip service, with zero action to back it, you again know what needs to be done...

And be sure to complement your questions with complementary ones... For example:

- What is that persons position regarding water fluoridation, which has been defined by a leading EPA scientist as "one of the biggest scientific fraud of all times"?

- What is THEIR POSITION about the right people have to get truthful labelling on the food they buy, such as for example if it contains GMO or genetically-modified material, more popularly known as "frankenfoods", or artificial hormones?

- What do they think about the proposal to heavily tax aspartame and sucralose-containing "foods" at the local, county and state level, and use the money for public education about the real elements of optimal nutrition?

- Do they support prorated Agricultural Water rates for Water and Power customers who desire to maintain their own food-producing *organic* gardens? (If people want to eat pesticides, herbicides, etc, etc, they can get them at the local supermarket without polluting their neighbors and themselves. There is clearly no need to support that...)

- Etc, etc. Make your own questions, adapted from that person's public record, if it is an incumbent. Put real democracy in action!

Just remember that support about people's inalienable right to have access to unadulterated and pure foods, and foremost, to grow their own, is truly the absolute Litmus Test about a politician's degree of actual corruption.

So ask what they think about it, and see what they say, and how they say it. Analyze it
carefully, and ask for clarifications and commitments. Remember, elections have often be defined as "a contest for the best liar". Don't let them do a Richard Nixon or Bill Clinton number on you (not to name more recent examples anyone can easily think of on their own).

Remember, these are REAL questions, and quite FUNDAMENTAL ONES too. You have a RIGHT to know what they truly think, and what they intend to do!

And if what you find appears to be honest support, but in an uninformed or badly-informed way, or if you see someone who appears to have good intentions, but does not really know what to do, it is YOUR job to turn limited support into fully-informed and enthousiastic support.

Finally, if you find what appears to be real and genuine support, then make sure that these specific individuals stays in office as long as possible, as long as they truly ACT upon what they say their convictions are. And, again, support them fully regardless of party issues.

Party issues are just artificial dividers, created to control the masses. They are of no importance whatsoever. The only thing that is important is what people DO regarding REAL ISSUES, when they are in a position of actually doing something!

And always MAKE SURE THAT THEY DO THE RIGHT THING when it comes to support what is perhaps the most important issue relating to our health: Our right to access unadulterated foods, and to grow them!

A WORD ABOUT FAD DIETS & THE BENEFITS OF EATING RIGHT

A WORD ABOUT FAD DIETS & THE BENEFITS OF EATING RIGHT

Fad diets come and go, but they are here to stay, since there are enormous amounts of money to be made peddling them. Some contain tidbits of correct nutritional information. Most are very poor at that level. Others, downright disastrous.

The current winner in the fad diet class is "The Atkins Diet".

The "Atkins Diet" offers you total non-sense dieting based on a complete miscomprehension of nutrition, why the body needs it, and how it works. It's not that the "Atkins Diet" doesn't work if you want to lose weight. If you follow it religiously, it does work!

At what costs it achieves temporary weightloss, that's another issue, as it is one of the few "diets" that has the potential to kill people. Which it regularly does.

But of course "dieting" is not a recognized cause of death, so officially it will be "cardiac arrest", "liver poisoning", or just "natural causes". That one ending being a perfectly correct diagnosis, since indeed, it is perfectly natural to die if you eat that way.

The Atkins Diet is so unbalanced that most people eat it "plus some carbs", as common sense sometimes prevails. Of course, "plus some carbs", it does not work to lose weight anymore...
More, as Dr T. Colin Campbell put it in "The China Study", "if you have the Atkins Diet plus some "carbs", how different is this diet from the Standard American Diet -- the toxic diet that has been shown to make us fat, give us heart disease, destroy our kidneys, make us blind and lead us to Altzheimer's, cancer, and a host of other medical problems?"

He finishes that same chapter telling us: "At the beginning of this book, I said my goal was to redefine how we think of nutrition information -- eliminate confusion, make health simple and base my claims on the evidence generated by peer-reviewed nutrition research published in peer-reviewed, professional publications. So far you have seen a broad sample - and it is only a sample - of that evidence. You have seen that there is overwhelming scientific support for one, simple optimal diet -- a whole foods, plant-based diet.

Basically, Dr Campbell's book is the most eloquent advocation of why we should all create and maintain our own gardens, although it is definitely anot a book about gardening.

His next chapter starts this way:

"THE BENEFITS OF A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE ARE ENORMOUS. I want you to know that you can:

- Live longer.
- Look and feel younger.
- Have more energy.
- Lose weight.
- Lower your blood cholesterol.
- Prevent and reverse heart disease.
- Lower your risk of breast, prostate and other cancers.
- Preserve your eyesight in your later years.
- Prevent and treat diabetes.
- Avoid surgery in many instances.
- Vastly decrease the need for pharmaceutical drugs.
- Keep your bones strong.
- Avoid impotence [and frigidity].
- Avoid strokes.
- Prevent kidney stones.
- Keep your baby from getting Type 1 diabetes.
- Alleviate constipation.
- Lower your blood pressure.
- Avoid Altzheimer's."

And this is just a sample list...

Sure, eating right does not absolutely compel you to maintain your own Organic and Sustainable Garden. Doing so just makes it 10 times easier and lest expensive, that's all.
Perhaps it's time YOU thought about it!

THE EIGHT PRINCIPLES
OF ORGANIC & SUSTAINABLE GARDENING

THE EIGHT PRINCIPLES
OF ORGANIC & SUSTAINABLE GARDENING
Always keep them in mind!

First Principle: Learn to work with Nature, not against Her. Grow plants in the environments and conditions to which they are best suited. Or, if the conditions suitable for the plants you want to grow do not exist, learn to create them naturally: South-facing walls at their back; use of heat, light and water harvesting techniques; etc... There are many such techniques that work with Nature -- learn what they are, and just use them!

Second Principle: Always remember -- The very foundation of everything you do is the Soil. Feed the soil, not the plant. Keep the natural processes that feed plants working by putting as much back into the soil as you take. For example, it has been proven over and over that you can grow four-five feet (or more) tomatoes plants bearing fruit by the dozen (big ones) or the hundred (cherry types) on four inches of soil (that's 4" or 10 cms). As long as it is healthy, fluffy organic soil teaming with life, kept constantly moist and aerated, the results will amaze you. The only way to get that kind of soil is called "raised beds". Use them!

Third Principle: Learn to use water, AIR and light properly. The need of germinating plants, for example, are very different from adult specimen of the same specie. Harvest and use your grey water -- but make sure you don't use toxic chemicals to wash yourself, your dishes or your clothes. Learn to "think green" in an integrated manner. And remember that AIR is actually as important for plant grow as water. Work the Soil, not the plant: Your fluffy raised-bned garden soil needs to be *aerated* as much as it needs moisture.

Fourth Principle: Integrate your gardens, and particularly your "Potager" or Vegetable Garden, to your life. That garden will actually become the prime factor in maintaining your health, and might actually save your life. Of course, if it actually does, you won't even know about it. All that will happen is that you will just see other people around you getting sick, and ultimately, die from the usual killers: Cancer, stroke or cardio-vascular diseases, immune system collapses, or if they are lucky, just wither away with chronic diseases, diabetes, obesity and finally Alzheimer's. While you continue to enjoy a happy, equilibrated and productive life.

Fifth Principle: Create "Edible Ecosystems" by promoting diversity within your Organic and Sustainable Garden, to maintain Nature's own checks and balances. Encouraging biological diversity will minimize the need for artificial pest control. In other words, mingle vegetables, and beneficial flowers, such as calendula, and herbs, particularly garlics, chives and onions, in your own little "edible urban jungles". Forget rows of crops suitable for mechanical harvesting and pesticides or herbicides applications -- you are not a conventional "farmer". Like someone said: "organically, balanced-fed plants produce their own natural pesticides, which translate into antioxidants for us. Better for the earth, better for the plant, better for us". It couldn't be said any better.

Sixth Principle: Think of the garden as a Natural Edible Ecosystem, and act accordingly! Plants as well as insects, earthworms, microscopic creatures, and other fauna are essential to the health of this system. While some insects do eat plants, natural predators and parasites can keep their populations in check. Remember that nature tolerates some damage -- the occasional chewed leaf or fruit is well worth the advantages of a healthy, productive organic garden. Plus, a healthy Organic and Sustainable Garden created and thriving in a raised bed takes a LOT less work to maintain...

Seventh Principle: Invite the right "weeds". Many plants people think of as "weeds", such as for example dandelion and several relatives of dandelion, purslane, plantain, etc, are in reality delicious potherbs as well as salad herbs when young. Learn to recognize them and cultivate them exactly like you would other plants, you will be glad you did!

Eighth Principle: Be optimistic and open-minded, but DEMAND what you need!
We are so accustomed to a situation where corporations seem so completely dedicated to poisoning us that it is sometimes hard to remember that tools, technology and commerce are not necessarily our enemies. Even standard "consumer outlets" are not necessarily condemned forever to be the conduits for toxic "food", "diet" beverages that are pure poison, GMOs, etc. In the end, what they sell us also depends on us. Sure, there is tons of advertising and manipulation "encouraging" us to do so, but, in truth, no one holds a gun to our head to force us to buy waste unfit to feed animals, and call it "food".

Technology, in particular, can be a powerful ally. To begin with, what would most of us know, if the Internet would not exist? More, and for example, the technology is there to have extremely cost-effective and totally non-polluting automated systems and even robots taking care of our gardens for us. Or at least, do for us a lot of time consuming things such as watering, seeding and even weeding. Sure, right now, such systems do not exist, except automated watering systems, but they *could* exist and be made available tomorrow.
Look for them, ask for them, and entrepreneurs will bring them to you.

Automated and, ready-made ORGANIC gardens should be something you and me should be able to order at Home Depot or Walmart, and have installed in the afternoon if we ordered them in the morning. Someday, we will!

More, there is no "Supersize Me" law on the books, that would compel fast food outlets to serve toxic waste and call it "food". In fact, anyone so inclined could start a fast food chain serving exclusively organic and functional foods and beverages, and it would quite obviously soon be a huge success. If we had the money, we'd do it. If *you* do have the money, why don't you do it yourself? And if you don't, clamor for someone to do it, and sooner or later it will come!

WHY START *ORGANIC* & SUSTAINABLE GARDENING?

WHY START *ORGANIC* & SUSTAINABLE GARDENING?

ORGANIC? The term "organic" is being used with increasing frequency as we become ever more concerned with the safety and quality of our environment and the foods we eat, and with good cause.

Despite this common usage, much confusion remains as to what "organic gardening" entails, what makes a garden "sustainable", and how to garden optimally.

Fundamentally, and stated in the simplest possible way, organic gardening combines an understanding of nature with long-established gardening traditions and modern scientific discoveries to create a method of raising and caring for plants without the use of synthetic chemical pesticides or fertilizers. With the goal to produce foods which are optimally adapted to our nutritional needs.

Relevant techniques and methods include "soil design" and management, composting, companion planting, perhaps to the point of creating "Edible Ecosystems", interplanting, mulching, soil amendments, crop rotation, the possible use of beneficial insects, integrated pest management (IPM), and other approaches when necessary. All are important aspects of organic gardening, although some are more fundamental than others.

At http://optimalgardens.blogspot.com , we are committed to introduce you to what is the most effective, inexpensive, and environmentally friendly approach to growing at least part of your own food.

WHY? The main reason why you will want to make Organic and Sustainable Gardening part of your life is simply because it's an integral part of maintaining your health and the health of your family, as well as attaining and keeping a state of optimal health. In fact, perhaps the most essential part there is. To be honest, doing so, might even save your life. Cancer, stroke, cardio-vascular and immune-system diseases, to say nothing about diabetes, obesity and chronic illnesses are not something that happens just to others... Sooner or later, if you eat the “SAD” way, they will hit home... If they haven't already!

The founder of medicine as we know it was the Greek philosopher and physician Hippocrates. The most basic principle Hippocrates went by was : "Let thy food be thy medicine". Age old wisdom expanded on this, telling us: "You are what you eat". How true that is!

Indeed, one thing is clear, eating the SAD (Standard American Diet) way, you and your loved ones will pay daily in form of obesity, constantly degrading looks and health, and soon chronic and then acute diseases. Till the one that will finally kill you. It matters little if the winner in the race to kill you will be cancer, stroke or cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, immune system collapse, or whatever: The end result will always be the same. Exactly as the cause will always have been the same: An inadequate diet, and poor nutrition.

Eating like they'd be garbage dumps or sewers is a choice most people seem to make. Sure, if it is an informed choice, it is their right to make it. However, the question is, would people make the choices they make, if they were properly informed? That highly questionable, even if of course another issue altogether...

As for yourself, the very fact that you read this right now shows that YOU are already informed enough to start making the right choices... It's entirely up to you to make them on an on-going basis, it is your right to choose health over disease, it is certainly in no way illegal to do so, and we will show you here that the necessary choices are in no way overly complex or out of your reach.

In fact, anyone with a backyard, a rooftop or in some way access to some patch of land, such as a "Community Garden" space, or simply a neighbor's backyard, can make the easiest and most fundamental of these right choices, namely, to start producing at least part of your own food.

And if you don't have the time or inclination to do it yourself, just let other people do it for you, for a fee, or in some sort of barter deal. And if nothing else is possible, find out some CSA ("Community Supported Agriculture") in your area, and become a member.

Just be aware that what you do when you choose organic gardening, is simply to choose to take your own destiny back in your own hands, and out of the hands of the merchants of disease and death, which we all have patronized way too long.

23 MILLION ACRES OF POTENTIAL ORGANIC & SUSTAINABLE GARDENS!

23 MILLION ACRES OF POTENTIAL ORGANIC & SUSTAINABLE GARDENS!

We recently came across the following quite incredible tidbit of information: There are 23 MILLION acres of lawns in the US! Costs: Over 30 BILLION a year, and these lawns are the most toxic parts of the country, sometimes akin in toxicity to “superfund” environmental disaster sites.

"VICTORY LAWNS? What happens when oil really gets expensive, and 3,000-miles strawberries become $30 strawberries? Welcome to Plan B invites Jan Lundberg, one of the most prolific, commonsensical “solutions” writers in the USA Today. Created in 1969 and defended by local residents, Berkeley's People's Park has become a model for U.S. cities. On the 4th of July, Lundberg planted corn and beans there, while marveling at “the healthy state of fruit trees, berry bushes, vegetables, and herbs.”

Driveways and parking lots are easy to remove, he notes. And “Rooftop gardens are advisable if water is available.” [Culture Change Letter #104 July 8/05]

Heather Coburn picks up this theme in her book, 'Food Not Lawns'. 'More than 58 million Americans spend at least $30 billion every year to maintain over 23 million acres of lawn. That's an average of over a third of an acre and $517 each,' she reveals. 'The same size plot of land could still have a small lawn for recreation, plus produce all of the vegetables needed to feed a family of six. The lawns in the United States consume around 270 billion gallons of water a week -enough to water 81 million acres of organic vegetables, all summer long.'

For apartment dwellers, 'An amazing amount of produce can be grown in containers or window boxes, especially greens like lettuce,' the Sierra Club's 'Mr. Green' Bob Schildgen suggests. To promote peaceful “perpetual salads” instead of perpetual war just snip some leaves and let the plant grow back. [Sierra Nov-Dec/06]

In terms of labor, fuel, and poisons, lawns are bigger than industrial agricultural sector in the United States. American lawns use 10-times as much toxic chemicals per acre as industrial farmland, poisoning playing children and downstream groundwater, and making them tricky to convert for veggie growing unless allowed to lie fallow for a few years. In the meantime, if pesticides are a problem, make some “raised bed” sandboxes filled with clean soil.

Now is a good time to park the power mower, which excretes the same pollutants in an hour as a car driven 350 miles.

“Let's turn our cities into gardens,” suggests Nick Routeledge in the Whiteaker Community Newsletter. “Right now is the time. We are the ones we've been waiting for.”

But i fact "'More than 58 million Americans spend at least $30 billion every year to maintain over 23 million acres of lawn. That's an average of over a third of an acre and $517 each,' she reveals. 'The same size plot of land could still have a small lawn for recreation, plus produce all of the vegetables needed to feed a family of six"... that's just not true. Over a third of an acre is about 15,000 square feet. Gardened optimally and real intensively using the "Edible Ecosystem" approach, which is like "Companion Planting" on steroids, 15,000 square feet is enough land to feed 150 people. And even if you take a more relaxed approach, it's still enough to feed 50 people. Now, if you truly think of it, the very idea that 58 Million people are stupid enough to grow ~grass~ instead of food, at the same time they are dying of cancer, cardio-vascular and other degenerative diseases which are totally linked to the abysmal quality of what they eat, is ~absolutely amazing~.

In fact... "An English vegetable garden can produce 8 tons an acre! During World War II, 40% of Britain's food and vegetables were derived from some 300,000 acres of home vegetable gardens and community plots. The return of urban households to vegetable gardening in cities like Vancouver, British Columbia, is one of the biggest, quietest and most transformative revolutions currently underway."

And this is to say nothing of what happened in Cuba after the collapse of the Soviet Union FORCED the communist authorities to encourage individual gardens, which could only be organic, since no chemicals and oil were available anymore. Today, because of that, Cubans are practically the best-fed people on the planet, which is truly an amazing thought, considering what their diet was 20 years ago (answer: Even worse than the SAD [Standard American Diet] way of eating).

"The suburban family farmer is the savior of the world," Bill Mollison [the well-known originator of the 'permaculture' concept] believes. Anyone can join! While returning some 14,500 pesticide-soaked golf courses in the United States to safe food production, many of the nation's 700,000 athletic grounds could be used in part or completely to grow food. [Front Porch News May/00]

“If we truly feel committed to treating the earth and each other with equality and respect, the first place to show it is by how we treat the land we live on. It is time to grow food, not lawns!” Deborah Coburn urges. “The reasons include reducing pollution, improving the quality of your diet, increasing local food security, and beautifying your surroundings, as well as building community and improving your mental and physical health. You will save money and enhance your connection with the earth and with your family.”

What about introducing school playground gardens to kids? “If we can change our land-use philosophy from one of ownership and control to one of sharing and cooperation, we can renew our connection with the Earth and each other, and thus benefit through increased physical and mental health, an improved natural environment, and stronger local communities,” Coburn extols. In other words: “Use Permaculture to make peace real.” [Front Porch News May/00; Food Not Lawns; Discover Magazine July/03; Global Warming Crisis Council in Aug/03]"

What this all demonstrates is that there is clear a nascent but increasingly vocal movement toward a completely different approach to the way we eat and the way we relate to the land.

The reward in participating to this true "Renaissance" are manifold in terms of health and well-being. Here at optimalgardens.blogspot.com, we endeavor to give you the tools to fully participate to this new revolution. Team up with other like-minded people, and start *growing* what you eat. If you live in or around Los Angeles, you are in luck, both from a climate point of view, and because you are not alone.

But if you live anywhere else, feel free to use all the materials and data published here to start your own grass-roots local team! Optimal Gardening is the way to go!

ComAd12 - The true secrets of Weightloss, Weight Control, Youthfulness and Youthful Appearance.

ComAd12 - The true secrets of Weightloss, Weight Control, Youthfulness and Youthful Appearance.

This ad a more general version of an earlier barter ad. At first, it appears to focus on issue generally recognized as being associated to women's interest: Weight, appearance, etc. But it quickly shifts to the real underlying and more general issue of Health, since weight, appearance, youthfulness and health all in the end boil down to the same general basic issue: How we eat and what we eat.

This ad introduces “The China Project” and calls upon considering growing one's own foods, as much as can be done. Of course, at the time being, this is unlikely to happen too often, as most people don't have the time or inclination to do so. So it reminds the reader that this can be done for them, or for a fee, or in some sort of barter arrangement. And that, sooner or later, ready-made gardens will be widely available.

However, one fact seems inescapable when you look at the reaction to the type of information found here: Even the people who actually understand the issue, and would *want to* do something about it, are still unlikely to have ready access to Organic and Sustainable Foods grown locally anytime soon. Not until automated gardening systems are widely available at reasonable costs, making it easy for everyone to start addressing the true needs of their body and do what is right.

This leads back to the issue that there is a huge market here, waiting to be taped, and that nothing will truly reach the many, until entrepreneurs start addressing the issue. Fortunately, it's quite clear that interest in doing so is rising, because anyone who does a little bit of market research will soon find out that interest is high, so there is potential demand, while offer is practically nil.

How long it will take for people to be able to order a ready-made garden from Home Depot or Walmart in the morning, and start enjoying it by the evening, remains to be seen...

Believe it or not, this might be the most important ad you ever read in your entire life, because besides weight and appearances issues, there is one more thing what I am going to tell you about also addresses: Optimal Health. Even if it doesn't even try to *sell you* anything! So read it carefully!

The original title of this ad was: "Health, Ideal Weight & Youthfulness -Yours just for the asking & at no costs to you!", and it is exactly what is covered here.

The final secret of it is quite simple: Grow yourself what your body needs, and EAT IT!

Read on, and you will see how simple and cost-effective this can be...

Actually, fact is that if you have a piece of land around your house, even just an useless lawn, you might be able to turn around your life in a quite amazing way!

You can of course do it yourself, and consider whatever work is needed to create and maintain your own “potager” as healthy “exercise”. You can have it done for you for a consideration. And it could also be done for you in some barter arrangement. And of course if you have some REAL land somewhere near, and some water, you might be even better off, as there is quite some money to be made locally addressing the needs of everyone to eat right! The same goes if you have some money, and are interested in making even more of it by providing people with something they badly need and can barely find at any cost: Handy sources of unadulterated foods and beverages. Preferably right in their backyard or rooftop. At any rate, read on, but if you feel interested by any of the above intriguing potential for related businesses, please feel free to send us an email!

APPEARANCE, WEIGHT, HEALTH --WHAT ARE THE *TRUE* FACTS?
Today, and finally, the true facts are not hidden anymore: Actually, there is one study a whole array of specific interest groups don't want you to know about, even if it has been hailed as "the most comprehensive study on human nutrition ever made". For some corporate interests, keeping your eyes away from the conclusions of that study has become quite a priority, in fact, because this research has been done impeccably, under the authority of a man with the highest academic and scientific credentials, and is totally unimpeachable.

The result of over 20 years of painstaking research, and the crowning of a career spawning close to 50 years that produced over 300 peer-reviewed papers, this study has been done with the full help and support of all the Health Authorities and the Academy of Science of the most populous country on Earth, China, under the direction of one of the best scientific heads in contemporary science, Pr Dr T. Colin Campbell, by a team consisting of researchers from two of the most prestigious U.S. And British Universities, Cornell, and Oxford. In fact, the author is Jacob Gould Schurman Professor Emeritus of Nutritional Biochemistry at Cornell University, in Ithaca, New York, and in close to 50 years of research has received more than 70 grant-years of peer-reviewed research funding. Meaning that, being long tenured, he can (and does!) say things that would get anyone else fired under the direst of pressure in a matter of days...

If you were to read only one book this year, it's quite safe to say that it should be the one that reports the findings of these studies! A book, of course, 99.999% of people have never heard about... even if it was acknowledged by the New York Times as a seminal book, and the nec plus ultra of all nutritional research.

Of course and needless to say, there is a good reason for this silence: What this study proves is perhaps the simplest and most inconvenient truths of all: Today, the true causes of obesity, diabetes, most immune system dysfunction, etc, and most diseases, particularly chronic and degenerative ones, are perfectly known!

Not that anything is going to be done about it. For if we, as a society, started to do something about it, some very powerful vested interests would lose not billions, but literally trillions of dollars. Each year!

Thus, it is quite self-evident that no action will be officially taken about it anytime soon...

The good news, however, is that nothing stops YOU of reading this study (knowledge of that nature has yet to be made illegal in any way), draw your own conclusion, and do something about it *yourself*. In fact, if issues such as weight, cancer or even physical appearance are of any interest to you, doing something about it is simply a must.

Of course, this is something I highly encourage you to do! Send me an email, and I will give you all the website references which I am forbidden to publish here. (Let's try anyway: optimalgardens.blogspot is the place you want to go, just add a dot-com at the end). There, you will find out what it takes to get well, how simple that is, and why you probably won't hear about it anywhere else anytime soon.

More, the websites and other materials we will give you access to, at no costs to you whatsoever, as we are totally not-for-profit, will show you how easy it is to act upon your new found knowledge, and you will get informed on an on-going basis each time there is some new data popping up.

Also, we have an informal grassroots group teaming up to put this type of information to use the best we can. We even have people interested in bartering work in exchange for access to land, etc... usually people experienced in growing Organic and Sustainable Foods, which also means that it will be done optimally, as some have a lifetime of experience in these matters... More, if you are located in other places than Southern California, we allow you to freely use all our material to actually start your own local formal or informal grass-roots team or group. (See our copyright and licensing notice).

In any event, and not surprisingly, the conclusions of the research we are referring to here are in essence exactly identical to the conclusion the only physician to ever get TWO Nobel Prizes (missing a third by a hair's width), Pr Dr Otto Warburg, came to in his time: Almost all degenerative diseases, that is, diseases that are not infectious in nature (and, in addition, most of our our susceptibility to infectious diseases, and even to genetic predispositions, that is to say, in practice, a good proportion of all infectious and genetics-related diseases as well) can be traced to one main cause: What we eat, and the way we eat it.

This is why Dr Warburg, in practice, refused to eat anything that wasn't grown in his own garden or by people he personally knew and trusted!. The same was true of the founder of the Waldorf schools, Rudolf Steiner, and is true of many prominent people still today, even if they rarely advertise the fact – Dr Warburg was made fun of by his colleagues, because of it. This was also the case of people such as the de facto founder of the European ecological movement, Andre Birre, or of Dr Johanna Budwig, an alternative medicine specialist who nonetheless died so close to a centenarian as the difference does not matter.

Perhaps these people knew something most of us do not.

Fundamentally, the whole issue could be resumed this way : Every trip you make to the supermarket or the fast food joint gets you nearer to your grave.

Of course, it's unlikely to kill you right away, but it certainly almost guarantees that you will remain a good "medical consumer" forever. That your health and the health of your family will continue to slowly deteriorate and fall, your weight rise, and your appearance degrade. Of course, it also in practice guarantees that under the spell of mass hypnosis that nowadays passes for "medicine", you will buy more or more of these wonderful drugs that will make you even sicker...

Actually, according to official governmental statistics, today, the major all-over-the-board cause of death are "iatrogenic diseases", that is, diseases caused or aggravated by "health care". And a little-known but quite revealing statistic is that in the U.S., physicians die at an average age of 57 to 58, giving them a shorter lifespan than almost any other profession there is. In fact, many years ago a Dr of Veterinary Medicine identified the fact, and went on to use it to promote his business venture under the catchy title of "Dead Doctors Don't Lie". Over 50 million of these tapes were sold over the years, and it is estimated that over 200 million people have listened to that tape in one form or another. So, there is truly nothing new under the sun here...

This should of course come to no surprise to many : Since MDs in practice get their drugs for free, and are also the "beneficiaries" of a lifetime of brainwashing leading them to believe in their own trade of "allopathic medicine", obviously, they tend to use and overuse drugs. More, the average medicine curriculum, until recently, had something like ONE hour dedicated to nutrition... Not one hour per week, or month, or even year. One hour, total. Well-informed people, indeed, the ones Dr Robert Mendelssohn, the author of “Confessions of a Medical Heretic”, called the “Priests of the Established Church of Official Medicine”!

Now, if you think about all this, you will immediately recognize that the sort of knowledge this study (officially known as "The China Project") brought us is something the "Food and Disease" administration and industrial complex certainly do not want you to know about. Obviously, once you learn about it, sooner or later the vested interests who want you addicted to junk foods and chronically would lose your patronage, at least in part (since it always is hard to overcome a lifetime of habits, particularly the bad ones...).

This is why you most probably never heard about that report till now. A report which, by the way, has nonetheless been referred to as the "Grand Prix of Epidemiology" by The New York Times. Spanning over 20 years in one specific study, atop of 30 more years of related research by the study's director, Pr T. Colin Campbell, this is the most comprehensive study of nutrition ever conducted in the known history of humankind. As simple as that! Which does not mean that you ever heard about it, of course.

Now, forget about all the theories, the fad diets that kill (think Atkins Diet here, and aspartame or sucralose-based "Diet" soda and foods, etc), etc...

For a change, this is rock-solid research, with conclusions that can hardly be questioned by anyone serious, as they are quite inescapable. And the message this research conveys is in truth amazingly simple :

Almost all diseases, and certainly the most common ones such as cancers, cardio-vascular disease, immune system related diseases, diabetes, allergies, obesity, degraded appearance, etc, etc... have, in the end, a very simple and straightforward common cause, NUTRITION.

That is, the way we eat and what we eat.

The good news is that the logical corollary of this statement is that, if we are what we eat, consequently, diseases can almost all be prevented, and some very easily. And even reversed. Often almost at no or very little costs. A quite amazing fact!

Thus, in other words, it is not complicated or costly to completely change your life, and the life of the people you care for, friends and family! In fact, at the most basic level, you could go quite a long way in that direction all by yourself with no other expense than the little elbow grease (also called "exercise") that would be needed to actually *grow yourself* some organic and sustainable foods. But if you are not "exercise"-inclined, remember that you can contract experienced people to do this for you, or even in some places buy "ready-made" gardens. Or that this could even be done for you in some barter arrangement, as many people who do not have land are willing to do the work in exchange for a share of the crop.

Just email us, and we will send you all the basic references about all this, which you can then further check out at no costs to you on the Internet : All the relevant data is out there, you just have to know what you are looking for.

At any rate, don't become just another statistic! Don't listen to unsupported theories and fads! Learn research-based hard facts that will motivate and inspire you to better health, better looks, and all in one, a much better and happier life!

Ready-made GARDENING RELATED PATENT EXPLOITATION PARTNERSHIPS

Since we teamed up to work on new types of ready-made gardens, on the basis of the very large needs for diet and nutrition changes in Western countries revealed by the seminal “China Project”, hailed as “the most comprehensive study in human nutrition ever made”, we came across the facts that many self-evident elements that would make optimal gardening almost effortless and largely automated actually currently do not exist.

This is true even of the simplest of elements, such as rational and low-cost systems to erect the walls of “raised beds”, which for now are usually made of an increasingly expensive commodity: Wood, or simple and truly ready-to-install out-of-the-box automated watering systems.

Our study of what the optimal conditions and tools for automated or ready-made Organic and Sustainable Gardens or “Potagers” would be led us to the steady accumulation of numerous elements for patent applications with substantial potential for mass-market sales. This becomes more and more true by the day, considering that it becomes more and more self-evident that having access to one's own Organic and Sustainable Garden is in fact an important contribution to one's health, perhaps the most important of all. Which was, after all, the conclusion made long ago by the only physician to ever get not one but TWO Nobels Prizes in Medicine, Pr Dr Otto Warburg, who in practice refused to eat anything that wasn't grown in his own Organic and Sustainable Garden or the gardens of people he knew and trusted.

These numerous possible patent applications go from modern forms or adaptations of age-old gardening wisdom to entirely new aspects, such as advanced gardening robotics, which would in a way be more part of the dot-com “New Economy” than of anything agricultural in the classic sense.

Here is an example of what modern adaptations of age-old gardening techniques could be: 12 miles West from Paris lies the old Sun-King built French kingdom capital city of Versailles. There, Louis XIV enjoyed strawberries in February as a rule, and sometimes mid-January, as well as oranges and other citrus fruits all year long, plus other warm climate fruits and vegetables such as figs or pineapples.

This was long before railroad-enabled long distance transportation, oil, and airplanes. And happened in a continental climate similar to that of Upper NY State. How was that possible? Using greenhouses and composts, of course, but even much more so, using something anyone could easily build in their own backyards, WALLS.

Indeed, heat-accumulating South-facing walls were in fact a powerful component of the fabled “Potagers du Roi”. This, as well as many other techniques used then, can easily be adapted in original and novel ways to the needs of the modern world.

For example, these walls can also become vertical growing places in ways that have yet to be seen. More, the techniques that made the famous “Hanging Gardens of Babylon” one of the Seven Wonders of the Antique World can be also easily adapted to contemporary needs, where self-maintaining “green roofs” and “green buildings” could become the norm. And this is only scratching the surface. For example, as a recent Master Thesis at UCLA just reminded us, there are over 100,000 public libraries in the United States alone, and each of them is actually a natural customer for ready-made “Teaching Gardens”, “Green Roofs” and the like. Etc, etc.

And at the other end of the spectrum, with the advances of modern technology, completely “Automated Gardens” which in truth would be both powerful networked computer and multi-tasking robot could be built so cheaply that any suburbanite could have one in their backyard or their rooftop, if it was mass-produced.

This is, of course, a quite promising “dot-com” type of project venture capital would flock on, as soon as proof of concept have been developed. This, in turn, can be done on shoestring budgets. The commercial potential here is truly enormous.

Finally, in our consumer-oriented society, nowadays people are accustomed to get what they want the day before yesterday. Of course, today, this is totally impossible with gardens of any sorts, and of course even less so for Organic and Sustainable Gardens and “Potagers”.

But this could actually be offered as a standard option to people interested in starting enjoying their own private “potagers” in the afternoon, if they ordered it in the morning. And in fact, being able to satisfy such needs is not even complex. It's astonishing that no business has ever been created about as simple a concept. Of course HOW TO do that leads again to a nice collection of possible patents about designs and elements making such endeavors possible with a quite interesting potential for mass-marketing.

If you are interested in becoming an active or financial partner in business venture built around the concepts of ready-made and automated gardens, and related issues, please contact us.

We also consider raising capital with what is known as a D 504 offering, as soon as sufficient interest has been expressed. Venture Capital is also quite welcome.

ComAd08 – GARDENING AS A REMEDY TO DISEASE? Learn the facts!

ComAd08 – GARDENING AS A REMEDY TO DISEASE? Learn the facts!

This ad is a lot less dramatic that ComAd7 and ComAd09. But it still focuses on the fact that optimal system homeostasis when it comes to human hardware [that is, “optimal health”] is entirely dependent on the quality of the components and of the input. In other words, we are what we eat, ingest and breathe. And that imbalances such as all the “modern” degenerative diseases such as cancer, stroke and cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, immune system dysfunctions, etc, are always directly or indirectly function of the way we eat, of our diet.

Most people know that every seven years, absolutely every part of our bodies has been changed at the molecular and atomic level – we are truly brand new. This, of course, is a continuous and on-going process process of equilibrium maintenance and self-repair that ends only with death. But what very few seem to realize is what this means in practice.

What this means in practice is that there is nothing more important than providing our system with quality components and input: Eating right, and the right things. Otherwise, sooner or later, we are going to pay for what we do, and degenerative or chronic diseases are the currencies our body uses to tell us that what we eat is less than optimal.

To reverse these imbalances, we need on-going access to unadulterated, organic, minimally processed or ideally completely non-processed (that is, RAW) foods and beverages that are attuned to the needs of our body. For this, we need access to our own “potager” or food garden, or at least a local community garden or a CSA [Community-Supported Agriculture] project.

A health-oriented ad like this one might actually help awaken someone who is sick, or has some friends or family members who are ill, and make them aware that most illnesses are reversible, particularly “modern” degenerative illnesses arising from conventional adulterated foods and environmental pollution and the SAD (Standard American Diet”) way of eating.

======================================

GARDENING AS A REMEDY TO DISEASE? Learn the facts!

It might sound strange to think of gardening that way, but actually, it is proven that gardening the right way is one of the most powerful antidote to disease there is. Both a preventative and a curative. We are not talking about growing roses or such, of course, but about organic and sustainable vegetable gardening - what in old times was called a "potager". And actually *eating* these vegetables...

This seemingly novel concept is actually based on impeccable peer-reviewed science. In fact, it's based on the most extensive (20 years-long) study of human nutrition ever made, under the auspices of the University of Oxford, Cornell University and a division of the the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Anyone who ignore the findings of that study does so at their own peril, and will almost certainly pay for their ignorance in form of encounters with one or several of the diseases that kill us.

What this study proves is that the way we eat is completely correlated with the state of our health. That eating the Standard American diet leads to cancer, strokes and cardiovascular diseases, and all sorts or degenerative and chronic diseases. The good news being that most is not all these diseases are actually reversible ... IF we change the way we eat. And that fresh, locally produced vegetables along with a bit of fruit go a long way in the right direction.

In other words, creating and maintaining your own garden might save your life, or at least, significantly improve the length and quality of it.

If you send us an email, we will reply with material that will allow you to explore the facts about diet and nutrition exemplified in this study, and your options when it comes to use gardening to change your diet. We have nothing to sell, we are simply a grass-root not-for-profit informal group of people dedicated to Research in Health through Organic and Sustainable Gardening and Farming.

Please email us for more information, and also look at optimalgardens.blogspot.com for more material.
