Ready-made GARDENING RELATED PATENT EXPLOITATION PARTNERSHIPS
Since we teamed up to work on new types of ready-made gardens, on the basis of the very large needs for diet and nutrition changes in Western countries revealed by the seminal “China Project”, hailed as “the most comprehensive study in human nutrition ever made”, we came across the facts that many self-evident elements that would make optimal gardening almost effortless and largely automated actually currently do not exist.
This is true even of the simplest of elements, such as rational and low-cost systems to erect the walls of “raised beds”, which for now are usually made of an increasingly expensive commodity: Wood, or simple and truly ready-to-install out-of-the-box automated watering systems.
Our study of what the optimal conditions and tools for automated or ready-made Organic and Sustainable Gardens or “Potagers” would be led us to the steady accumulation of numerous elements for patent applications with substantial potential for mass-market sales. This becomes more and more true by the day, considering that it becomes more and more self-evident that having access to one's own Organic and Sustainable Garden is in fact an important contribution to one's health, perhaps the most important of all. Which was, after all, the conclusion made long ago by the only physician to ever get not one but TWO Nobels Prizes in Medicine, Pr Dr Otto Warburg, who in practice refused to eat anything that wasn't grown in his own Organic and Sustainable Garden or the gardens of people he knew and trusted.
These numerous possible patent applications go from modern forms or adaptations of age-old gardening wisdom to entirely new aspects, such as advanced gardening robotics, which would in a way be more part of the dot-com “New Economy” than of anything agricultural in the classic sense.
Here is an example of what modern adaptations of age-old gardening techniques could be: 12 miles West from Paris lies the old Sun-King built French kingdom capital city of Versailles. There, Louis XIV enjoyed strawberries in February as a rule, and sometimes mid-January, as well as oranges and other citrus fruits all year long, plus other warm climate fruits and vegetables such as figs or pineapples.
This was long before railroad-enabled long distance transportation, oil, and airplanes. And happened in a continental climate similar to that of Upper NY State. How was that possible? Using greenhouses and composts, of course, but even much more so, using something anyone could easily build in their own backyards, WALLS.
Indeed, heat-accumulating South-facing walls were in fact a powerful component of the fabled “Potagers du Roi”. This, as well as many other techniques used then, can easily be adapted in original and novel ways to the needs of the modern world.
For example, these walls can also become vertical growing places in ways that have yet to be seen. More, the techniques that made the famous “Hanging Gardens of Babylon” one of the Seven Wonders of the Antique World can be also easily adapted to contemporary needs, where self-maintaining “green roofs” and “green buildings” could become the norm. And this is only scratching the surface. For example, as a recent Master Thesis at UCLA just reminded us, there are over 100,000 public libraries in the United States alone, and each of them is actually a natural customer for ready-made “Teaching Gardens”, “Green Roofs” and the like. Etc, etc.
And at the other end of the spectrum, with the advances of modern technology, completely “Automated Gardens” which in truth would be both powerful networked computer and multi-tasking robot could be built so cheaply that any suburbanite could have one in their backyard or their rooftop, if it was mass-produced.
This is, of course, a quite promising “dot-com” type of project venture capital would flock on, as soon as proof of concept have been developed. This, in turn, can be done on shoestring budgets. The commercial potential here is truly enormous.
Finally, in our consumer-oriented society, nowadays people are accustomed to get what they want the day before yesterday. Of course, today, this is totally impossible with gardens of any sorts, and of course even less so for Organic and Sustainable Gardens and “Potagers”.
But this could actually be offered as a standard option to people interested in starting enjoying their own private “potagers” in the afternoon, if they ordered it in the morning. And in fact, being able to satisfy such needs is not even complex. It's astonishing that no business has ever been created about as simple a concept. Of course HOW TO do that leads again to a nice collection of possible patents about designs and elements making such endeavors possible with a quite interesting potential for mass-marketing.
If you are interested in becoming an active or financial partner in business venture built around the concepts of ready-made and automated gardens, and related issues, please contact us.
We also consider raising capital with what is known as a D 504 offering, as soon as sufficient interest has been expressed. Venture Capital is also quite welcome.
