REASON 1 - GARDENING AS A REMEDY TO DISEASE

GARDENING AS A REMEDY TO DISEASE?

It might sound strange to think of gardening that way, but actually, it is proven that gardening the right way is one of the most powerful antidote to disease there is. Both a preventative and a curative. We are not talking about growing roses or such, of course, but about organic and sustainable vegetable gardening - what in old times was called a "potager". And actually *eating* these vegetables...

This seemingly novel concept is actually based on impeccable peer-reviewed science. In fact, it's based on the most extensive (20 years-long) study of human nutrition ever made, under the auspices of the University of Oxford, Cornell University and a division of the the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Anyone who ignore the findings of that study does so at their own peril, and will almost certainly pay for their ignorance in form of encounters with one or several of the diseases that kill us.

What this study proves is that the way we eat is completely correlated with the state of our health. That eating the Standard American diet leads to cancer, strokes and cardiovascular diseases, and all sorts or degenerative and chronic diseases. The good news being that most is not all these diseases are actually reversible ... IF we change the way we eat. And that fresh, locally produced vegetables along with a bit of fruit go a long way in the right direction.

In other words, creating and maintaining your own garden might save your life, or at least, significantly improve the length and quality of it.

If you send us an email, we will reply with material that will allow you to explore the facts about diet and nutrition exemplified in this study, and your options when it comes to use gardening to change your diet. We have nothing to sell, we are simply a grass-root non-profit dedicated to Research in Organic and Sustainable Gardening and Farming.
